Arts College Jarud Distt. Amravati is one of the twenty five college founded in July 1990 under overall management shri Shivaji Education Society Amravati (1932) inspired by the vision of Great Maratha king shri Shivaji Maharaj. Shri Shivaji Education Society basically started by the vision of Great Educaton Society Amravati (1932) inspired by the vision of Great maratha king Shri Shivaj Maharaj. Shri Shivaji Education Society is a registerd body under Societies registration act. The Society basically started by great educationist its and Outstanding Contributor in field of agriculture Dr. Panjabrao allias Bhausaheb Deshmukh with an idea to give an opportunity of education to common masses who were resides in rural area and backward region of vidharbha in particular.

Considering the same view the college was started by shri Shivaji Education Society and shri Harshvardhan P.Deshmukh (MLaA and Ex-Minister for Agriculturre, Maharashtra State ) was chief promoter in the sense that he had made significant and honest efforts in granting permission from the state Govt. Now the College is grantin-aid institution and presently affileated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati and. Located in teh rural area of Jarud and extended its Jurisdication approximately to twenty seven nearby villagesa attached to the Jarud. It aims to empower the educationally backward and disadvantaged rural students by imparting ggeneral higher ecucation in Social Science subjects along with language Subjecs under the faculty of arts and social scientce. It offer integrated under the graduate three years degree Programme of B.A. with English , Marathi, Economics, Marathi Literature, Political Science, History , Scoilology, Home-economics, and Environment studies.

The College has 12 teachers 11 are permanent and one is contributory teachers. consisting of lectuers Librarian Director of Physical Education and Principal. The goals and objectives which are separaterly stated are partially reflected through curriculum and remaining goals and objectives are fulfilled through extra curricular and extension activities. College fellows the annual pattern of examination . The programme of three year degree course of B.A. is flexible to same extent to offer elctive option to choose three out of five optional subjects. College follows tranparent admission process for students. A reserved category student which is strength of is integral part of college. More than eighty percent of students are belong to reserved category, they are selecting for admission as per the provision laid down by university and state Government.

College has defined managements Structure wiht apex Governing body, local managing committe and many more committees and sub committee to administer the functions and transacted business through periodic meetings. All the decisions and business transacted are students oriented. Students are given elective options to selects he subjects are caree oriented in the wense that on can make impressive in this field. Howerer progression of students to employments is very low students gradnated from colllege enrolled

Themselves for further higher studies in different postgraduate colleges and university departments. Out of them few got places in university merit list and first class career. Studans are given Scholarships and free ship to economically backward students as per Governments regulation and rules.

As outcome of the above activities college is assessed and accredited by NAAC with C+ grade for five years. Recently Amravati university granted permanent affilition to the college. Both is milestones.
